The German expressionist poet, essayist and novelist Gottfried Benn (1886-1956) was also a doctor of medicine. Briefly a supporter of Germany's National Socialist revolution, he later sharply criticized the movement. His poetry booklet "Morgue and Other Poems" published in 1912 established his reputation as an expressionist poet before the start of the first World War. Fine .
