Fernanda Pivano [1917-2009] was an Italian writer, journalist, translator and critic. She was a friend of Ernest Hemingway and her translation of "A Farewell to Arms" was published by Mondadori in 1949. She made her first trip to the United States in 1956 and contributed to promoting the work of American writers in Italy throughout her professional career. Among the contents of this book are essays on, and descriptions of encounters with, Norman Mailer, Max Ernst, Ray Bradbury, Joyce Carol Oates, Picasso, Philip Glass and the Living Theatre. The text is in Italian. Very good .
