In the introductory essay, William Zimmer writes about Peck's "re-paintings", a technique which the artist describes in a brief note: "The paintings named 'Re-Paintings' are oil paint on canvas, or linen, which has been prepared on both sides. One side is painted on, and then this painted surface is cut up. The cuttings in turn are pressed-placed into wet oil paint which has been put down on another stretched canvas, or linen surface. What interests me is the eventual communion of the two becoming one."
