From the library of Leonard Bernstein [Sotheby Sale 7070, Lot #160], inscribed to him by Aaron Schmuller on the front endpaper: "For Leonard Bernstein with greetings and good wishes--A Schmuller Esq". Laid in is a folded publicity flier for Schmuller's Crossing the Borderland: Poems and Translations on which is typed "Comments on volume 4. Published by Villiers Publications Ltd. London, 1959." One of the reviews quoted on the flier describes Schmuller as "one of the foremost students of and translators of Yiddish literature. Very good .
