There is a light stain to the front wrap & the bottom edge of the rear wrap is chipped. 31 pp. There is a light vertical crease to the pages & the bottom corners are lightly creased. Good.

Bishop Henry Ustick Onderdonk [1789-1858] was suspended from office by the Episcopal Church in 1844 after rumors in the church press of alcoholism.

William Meade [1789-1862], the well-known bishop of the Diocese of Virginia, here defends the continued suspension by the church of Bishop Onderdonk from charges of unfairness made by Horace Binney in a pamphlet. Horace Binney [1780-1875], whose name has been written in ink on the pamphlet's front wrap under the words "A Member of the Church", was a famed Philadelphia lawyer who made his charges in "The Case of the Right Reverend Henry U. Onderdonk, D.D. Stated and Considered, with Reference to his Continued Suspension. Good .
