From the library of bookman Charles Dexter Allen, who was an expert on bookplates, with his book label on the front pastedown. The book is inscribed to him by the author on a slip of paper mounted below the book label and with Wedmore's signature and the date "May 1913" on the label.
Frederick Wedmore [1844-1921] was an English art critic and man of letters. In 1868 he began to write for The Spectator. He published several novels and a volumes of short stories. He had a long connection with the London Standard as their art critic. "Assembled Pages" includes examples of his art, literary and drama criticism, as well as extracts from his fiction. Very good .
