The binding is bumped with some heavy rubbing to the spine & extremities. There is a small piece out of the spine near the head. xi & 561 pages. There is a pencil signature dated 1894 on the blank following the flyleaf. The fore-edge is foxed & there is occasional foxing & soiling elsewhere in the book. Several bottom page corners are creased. Illustrated with a black-and-white portrait frontispiece. Good.

O'Connor was a member of the South Carolina state house of representatives 1858-1866; he was a Congressman from South Carolina 1879-1881. Good .
