"The Fool" is based on the life of farm laborer turned poet John Clare and is published along with the six "Clare poems" written by Bond at the same time as the play. "We Come to the River" is the libretto for an opera with music by Hans Werner Henze, which was due to receive its British premiere at Covent Garden Opera House in July 1976. Very good .
