In original binding of marbled boards over half wine-red cloth spine with paper spine label and yellow endpapers. Black & white photo, and line drawings. Boards are worn at the edges, especially at the corners. Paper spine label partially chipped away. Joints tight, endpapers renewed, although binding remains slightly sprung (but intact). The photo (of a pterodactyl skull?), pasted down as frontispiece, is in excellent condition. A few spots to text, which is otherwise clean and unmarked. Previous owner's name (in pencil) to front free endpaper. A good copy of a scarce fantasy title. Not in Bleiler. Ink inscription on reverse of frontispiece page reads: 'For Sarah and Clifford in Canada / August, 1898'. .
