Title: The Works of Henry Fielding
Description: London, The Navarre Society, ND. Limited edition. Hardcover. 12mo. Twelve volume set, nicely bound in gold/brown silk with top edges gilt. Each volume with a lovely engraved frontispiece by George Cruikshank, and title page ornamentation. The delicate silk binding shows minor wear and slight spotting to a few volumes, with some bumping to corners. Silk binding to volume 1 a little crinkled. A few volumes slightly stressed, but all still tight. Previous owner's signature in pencil to ffeps. Internally, it appears the set was never read, as the contents are very clean and crisp. Only two thousand copies of this 12 volume set were printed for the Navarre Society. This set consists of THE HISTORY OF TOM JONES A Foundling (vols.1 to 6); THE HISTORY OF THE ADVENTURES OF JOSEPH ANDREWS and of his Friend Mr. Abraham Adams (vols. 7 and 8); AMELIA (vols. 9 to 11); THE LIFE OF MR. JONATHAN WILD, The Great (vol. 12). Ill.: Cruikshank illustrations.
