Stubbs, a Winnipeg judge, was himself a bit of a rebel against the establishment. One presumes he would have had sympathy when the complaints of Mr. Ewart. This pamphlet appears to be quite scarce. There is no mention of it in THE CANADIAN MILITARY EXPERIENCE 1897-1995: A Bibliography, although there is reference to another Ewart pamphlet (CANADA AND BRITISH WARS at p. 31). Written in opposition to Sir Robert Borden's attempts to involve Canadian forces in Britain's foreign military ventures. .
