Vol. 1 was inscribed by Neruda to Dolf Verspoor, an early translator of Neruda's work into Dutch, as follows: "Para / Dolf Verspoor / recuerdo / afectuoso de / Pablo / Neruda / 1949 / Paris / Quai / d'Orleans". In vol. 2 there is a handwritten note, probably by Neruda, on page 40, reading "Ici commence / Tentativa del / hombre / infinito". Most volumes have some light wear along the spine edges, and the page edges have some discoloring. An interesting edition, seldom seen.
