Ca. 70 x 50 cm. 350 copies printed. - The Batavia was a ship of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). It was built in Amsterdam in 1628. The Batavia, shipwrecked on her maiden voyage off Australia's west coast and was made famous by the subsequent mutiny and massacre that took place among the survivors. A twentieth-century replica of the ship was built in Lelystad, Netherlands, by Willem Vos. Including the construction drawings by ship-builder Willem Vos.
