Neat dedication to front free-endpaper: "Mr. Victor Delcosta Andiade from his friend Alfred Wm. Bates 28th November 1876". Light foxing throughout, not detracting from the clear text and bright illustrations. VG. ** Solomon Victor Del Costa Andrade (1855 - 1949) . Census records show that he was a "Feather Merchant".
