Miniature Wooden Lectern and Original Chain. 1.9" x 1.3" x 0.6" (4.8cm x 3.4cm x 1.6cm). pp.876, with 28 illustrations by C. B. Birch. Original dark brown leather over thin card covers. Top & tail of spine carefully strengthened. Gilt title to spine. Magnifying glass inserted in pocket to the rear cover. Original plain endpapers. Clean text throughout, just a few creased leaves. Colophon at base of last leaf: "Glasgow : Printed at the University Press". The Bible is chained (literally - clipped onto the rear cover) to the original 'miniature' wooden lectern which stands 134mm tall at the front, and 147mm at the back end, on a tapered stem. Remains of original printed label to base. The square base measures 63mm x 63mm.
