Description: Edinburgh: W. P. Nimmo, Hay, & Mitchell, [no date - c. 1885] . 0. A very good 13 volume set in matching half leather bindings. 8vo. 7.5" x 5.0" x 1.5" (19cm x 13cm x 4cm). Red calf spines and corners over marbled boards. Each spine with 5 raised bands, gilt decorated compartment, and contrasting leather title labels in brown and dark green. Edges lightly rubbed and bumped. Marbled page edges and matching endpapers. Small booksellers label to base of the verso of the front board: "Scholastic Trading Co. Ltd, 27 & 34 Bridge St. & 28, High St, Bristol. Branch: St. John Square, Cardiff." Each title with an engraved frontis and a printed title-page with an engraved vignette (sepearated by a tissue-guard). Followed by a second printed title-page, with colophon to verso: "Morrison And Gibb, Printers, Edinburgh." Clean text and illustrations throughout. No bookplates or owner's details. A very good but heavy set which will require extra to send overseas.
