A very good original velvet binding with brass edging and central brass clasp (in working order). 12mo. pp.168 . 12.3cm x 7.8cm x 1.4cm. Maroon velvet boards, a little rubbed, especially along the edges and hinges. Indentations to the red velvet on the boards and a small rubbed patch to the spine velvet. Rubbing along the spine edges and a couple of small splits at the top and bottom edge of the spine, nearest the front board. Slight bend to the corner of the brass trim around the back board. All page edges bright gilt. Velvet turn-ins over ivory watered silk endpapers. Fold-out frontis: View On The River Orwell by T.F.T. and engraved by D. Buckle . Title-page with vignette of Walton Manor Hall, also engraved by D. Buckle. Other full-page engavings (both by D. Buckle): "Crow Hall, Stutton"; Dunwich Priory by E. Hassell .
