Description: London : W. Kent & Co, Paternoster Row, [1863] . 0. A very good 19th century prayer book. Full leather binding and brass clasp in working order. 12mo. 4.75" x 3.0" x 0.75". pp.472. Brown morocco binding. Front board with gilt titles: "Consecutive Common Prayer."; and gilt crest: "C. T." [Tyalor Family]; and motto: "Plus Ultr" ( A shortened form of "Ne Plus Ultra" ). each board with brass edging and central brass clasp. All page edges bright gilt. Original pale yellow endpapers. Neat dedication to front free-endpaper: "Caroline Taylor Sept. 1863, from her affectionate husband A.S.T." The text is re-arranged, and the rubrics and Occasional Offices are omitted; "..so as to avoid the inconvenience of turning repeatedly from one part of the Book to another..". Clean text throughout. A very good copy of a scarce printing.
