Consists of chromolithograph plates with accompanying facing poem printed from type in gold; ornamental title page; flower illuminations attributed to Noel Humphreys by McLean, as cited below. In brown leather relievo binding, designed by Owen Jones and executed by the firm of Remnant and Edmonds. Corners bumped and edges rubbed, with later brown cloth spine. All page edges gilt. Gilt decorated linen endpapers. Bright chromolithographs, including on title-page ; religious verses lithographed in gold Gothic lettering. Light foxing throughout. Upper cover has title within rustic window, framed by ivy or vine leaves ; lettering replaced by flower tendrils on lower cover. The design is sunk into the surface of the leather.
