Plate on inside front cover reads "This work belongs to the Balmoral Lending Library Established by Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince Consort in 1859. For the Use of The Tenants, Servants and Cottages." There is a gilt circled "491" at the top of the spine and also handwritten on title page presumably this was the volume number in that collection. Part of watermark is discernible on the bookplate which reads "& Sons". Front cover is lightly marked. Binding is sound, bookplate is darkened, light foxing to prelims, pages are clean but a little darkened. (Attributed authors from National library catalogue.) 332 pages. No dust jacket, as published.
