Darkened cream covers with black decoration and gilt lettering, wear to corners and spine-ends, split in cloth over rear external joint and across the spine about midway between the top and lower edges, paper over inner hinges split showing webbing, foxing to end-papers and prelims and occasionally elsewhere, foxing to the fold-out map at rear, small purple stamps for Public Library Barrow throughout with a library plate and large black stamp at the front. Edition De Luxe limited to 200 copies. Contains many colour plates. No dust-jacket. Previous owner's book-plate laid in. Gilt upper text-block edge.. Ex-library copy with stamps and labels.
