F Claude Kempson - The Sad End of Erica's Blackamoor

Title: The Sad End of Erica's Blackamoor
Description: Edward Arnold, London, 1903. First Edition, Hardcover. Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Green covers illustrated in white, black and orange and cream linen spine. Pages with either black and white prints of "tableau" of events or with text , a hand-style in Capitals, with detailed cartoons with comments, telling a somewhat gruesome and, in today's terms, extremely racist stereotyping tale of Edwardian Erica's black doll from the toy shop. Not a tale for 21st Century small children but an example of the culture of its time. Covers are a little darkened, lightly scuffed at the corners, and lightly rubbed at the edges. The text block is detached from the covers but both are separately sound. Foxing to end-papers with a gift note at the front, Pages are clean with a small mark on the lower edge on some. No dust-jacket. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: under 1 kg. Pictures of this item not already displayed here available upon request. Inventory No: 10222031097. ISBN: 0904614042
