Has a gift inscription signed by Edith Nesbit on the verso of the front endpaper ['D'Arcy Reeve from E. Nesbit, August 7, 1895. Je suis ici en bien d'amie...']. Darcy Reeve was a benefactor of Edith, and financed the republication of her 'Lays & legends' and the publication of a second volume, and also gave her £300 towards a holiday in the south of France so she could recuperate from bronchitis. Very Good.
