Author was the leading writer and illustrator of picturesque travel books during the early Victorian era. CONDITION BlackLeather with 5 raised bands to spine and gitl title, beautiful bds are decorated the heavily tooled embossing to both bds,bright gilt to all edges and blue silk ribbon marker, brown end pages, Pp x 230 with 28 steel engraved illus plates and 31 woodblock illus through text. Light wear to spine, first blank has been cut out, damp stain to bottom cnr of some illus plates due to absorbancy of blotter type paper, most are toned to edges with only on tissue guard remaining as they were loosely inserted not bound in, copy is mostly nice with some mild foxing and odd mark, nice and crisp. Overweight. Very Good.
