Venables served in the Medical Corps of the New Zealand Army in the Solomon Islands and New Caledonia in WWII. During this time he produced many watercolours of soldiers, aircraft, landing craft and the paraphernalia of war. He exhibited in the 1952 Exhibition of Official War Paintings by New Zealand Artists. CONDITION Stapled wraps, 36 pages with illus Venables through out, a little bumped to cnrs and age discoloured to covers otherwise nice copy internally. Very Good.
