Professor Alexander William Bickerton (1842 - 1929) was the first professor of Chemistry at Canterbury College (later University). He is best known for teaching and mentoring Ernest Rutherford. This contains his partial impact theory explaining the describing the partial collision of two stars and the temporary creation of a bright third star as a consequence. CONDITION Not dated (1900?
