Description: New Zealand, Whitcombe & Tombes. 1910, First Edition. Hard Cover, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Not Dated [1910 NZNB P347] printed in an edition of 500 copies. Author was a teacher and broadcaster, she was the first sole teacher at Dilworth Boys School in 1906 and one of the founding members of the NZ League of Penwomen in Auckland 1925. Her writing is noted for celebrating Auckland and it’s environs. This is her first book of poetry though she published a childs version of David Copperfield prior to this in 1905. Many of the poems collected here had previously been published in Australian and New Zealand newspapers. CONDITION Green cloth with bright Gilt titles, 112 pages with portrait frontis. A nice crisp unworn copy, name to pastedowns, pages untrimmed with some dust spotting due to paper type. #New Zealand Literature#. Very Good/No Jacket.
