Spine holding the two wooden covers with the fern silhouetes and gilt decoration to reverses of boards. [Two tips damaged/head & foot of spine rubbed & foot chipped] All edges gilt and all pages printed in red concentric ruled frame with black printed text inside. Half title + titlepage + dedication all include black illustrations + [7]-223pp with the last 52pp of consisting of notes to the poem. The poems are is divided into six cantos with a foliated headpiece and all but the last two cantos with small tailpieces. One marginal tear without loss and a gift inscription to the second free endpaper. This and the one at the end have some mild foxing otherwise the paper is clean and crisp.
