Description: Paris & Anvers, C.M.Spanoghe 1786 Engraved Frontis to Vol.1,2,4,5 + 155 plates,plans & Map almost all folding + . 5 VOLUMES marbled boards, tan spine, gilt ruled, with two green spine labels to each volume. [corners bit bumped/sl flaking to a few hinges but all covers securely attached] The fore-edges are sprinkled blueish brown. VOLUME I has a Frontispiece + xviii which includes titlepage + avertissement + index of cities. + [1p=provincial list] + [1p=License to print] +279pp +[1p= additional info on Le Comte de Neny & publishers imprint. VOLUME II Frontis. + 372pp includes title & index VOLUME III 320pp includes index VOLUME IV 346pp which includes Frontis. & index VOLUME V 324pp includes frontis. & index. Each front endpaper has a blind stamped ownership & on the back of each frontis is the name A.P.J.Brihay crossed out in volume 1 & 2 & da Boussn [?] put underneath the crossed out name. All 5 titlepages have the oval blue ink-stamp of "Le Duc de Caraman Bibliotheque" above the publishers information . There are a very few marginal tears without loss plus 2 or 3 corners with paper-faults but without touching text. Volume 1 has a miniature binders label to the pastedown. A few woodcut embellishments and a red silk book-ribbon come in each volume. A crisp clean copy with fine illustrations and having the largest number of illustrations.
