The book is clean and tight without any tears, no annotations or marks, all pages clean and tight with good margins. In four parts each beginning with a headpiece and a four line decorative initial and some tailpieces. The author was asked by Henry VIII to look into the way he could divorce Cathrine of Aragon in order to marry Anne Boylyn. Pole, however did not think that Henry could defy the Papal authorities to grant an annulment and he actually had to flee England to escape Henry's wrath. This book finds Pole upholding the Pope's supremacy over the king in deciding against Henry suit.
