Description: London, Houlston & Stoneman 1853 Hand-colored lithographic plates (12) by James Andrews. . 162x103mm original green cloth, spine pictorial gilt, cover blind-stamped and with gilt decoration (tips rubbed). All Edges Gilt ix +[1]p +198pp including Index. Titlepage and facing plate are slightly foxed, as is the facing plate along the gutter edge only, otherwise clean and bright throughout. The plates are beautifully and carefully hand coloured and heightened with gum to achieve a sheen to selected parts of the flowers and leaves. They show bunches of exotic mixed flowers.
