Description: Paris, London, Berlin, New York, Goupil & Comp 1840 approx. Hand coloured lithographed plates (25) heightened with gum printed one side of leaf only. . Large octavo blindstamped pebbled navy cloth gilt titled to cover, lower cover with coat of arms gilt (rubbed/tips slightly bumped). Title page lithographed in red and blue with gilt text & decoration and silver Swiss cross + 25 pages of plates printed on light card stock on beige ground. A few plates with minor foxing & minor dusting to margins, the front free endpaper is loose and both endpapers are oxidized to the outer edges. Inscription to free endpaper, Mary Jane Bruce Goode, A Present from Mr. Butcher April 2nd 1869. *Costumed figures and paler background beautifully hand coloured (Colas 2839).
