The Illustration is "TWO APPRENTICES" with a caricature of James Whistler who is satirized in the text as Joe Sibley. Whistler threatened to sue and the illustration was removed. SEPARATE ISSUES OF HARPER'S MONTHLY MAGAZINE, Jan. 1894-Dec. 1894, containing the first appearance of "Trilby" in the first 8 numbers, with 15 illustrations by Du Maurier in each episode.OTHER WORKS BY REMINGTON, WISTER A.B. FROST, PYLE, GIBSON ETC. Original pictorial wrappers, spines darkened, minor chipping at backs of some volumes few pp. chipped on margins, otherwise VERY GOOD with some unopened pages.
