It developed into a series of sporting books which aimed to cover all major sports and pastimes, with each volume written by experts who were authorities in their fields. This a deluxe edition copy of this first edition work; in a half crushed morocco binding with bright orange boards, and a gilt coat of arms to the front board and gilded top page edges. Copiously illustrated throughout with in-text woodcut illustrations and twelve black and white plates. In the publisher's original half crushed morocco binding, with orange cloth over boards.
