Pan Am began daily service between Halifax and Boston with stops in St. John,Calais and Bangor. They had 12 Sikorsky Amphibians on the run which operated only August to Sept 1 1931. St. John N.B. Gripsack (Saint John). 1898. Paperbound. Book, illustrated paper wraps, 32 pages, ports, numerous half tone illustrations. reinforced at spine with tape, (an old repair), "The annual meeting of the St. John, N.B. Tourist Association was held last week, with President Skinner in the chair and representative business men present.The Executive Committee's report showed that since the organization of the association much interest had been aroused throughout New Brunswick in the work of advertising St. John as a resort for tourists. Ten thou- sand copies of the association's guide book and about 20,000 folders have been distri buted over Canada and the United States. Many folders had been distributed in Great Britain through the Canadian High Commissioner. One thousand copies of the special edition of Gripsack had been dis- tributed. Articles, illustrated and otherwise, had appeared in many papers and periodi- cals in Canada and the United States." a scarce periodical! Size: Folio, (30cm.). Good.

Montreal, Concordia Art Gallery. 1984. Paperbound. Book, pict paper wraps, 64 pages,illustrated, many plates in color, bilingual text Engish/French .Fraser was born in England. He came to Canada in 1858 to settle in the county of Stanstead in Quebec's Eastern Townships. In 1860 Fraser was living in Montreal,ostensibly at the invitation of William Notman to work in the photographer's studio. He was employed by Notman to tint photographs in either oil or watercolour. His success at Notman's resulted in a formal contract with the firm in 1867. He was a founding member of the Society of Canadian Artists in 1867. Size: Oblong 4 to.. Very Good.
