NIEUWEJAARSWENSCH van de LANTAARN-VULDERS, Aan de Ingezetene der Stad Dordrecht en de Merwede. [Wish card, New Year]
New year's wish card, woodcut and letterpress published in Dordrecht. The corporation of lamplighters wishes the city a good new year. Above a representation of the lamplighters at work. This broadside sheet is not dated, but it might be published between the end of the eighteenth and the end of the nineteenth century. On the bottom address of the publisher: 'Te Dordrecht Gedrukd bij J. van der Wall, in de Schuitemakers-Straat. l Broadside sheet woodcut and letterpress on paper; total: 446 x 244 mm; on laid paper; above slightly cooked; trails of ink on the bottom right, possibly due to frictioning when the ink was still fresh.

New year's wish card, woodcut and letterpress published in Amsterdam in 1795. The corporation of the dredgers (waldiepers) composed this card: in the illustration a canal in Amsterdam, where the dredgers are at work with nets, whereas one of them is handing the card to a woman at her door's step. Published by B. Koene. l Broadside sheet, woodcut and letterpress on paper; total: 333 x 207 mm; hand colored; signs of foldings, in very good conditions, mounted on cardboard.

New year's wish card, woodcut and letterpress published in Amsterdam in 1782. On the top a collection of small views of spots of Amsterdam, from three different woodblocks; among these the Zuiderkerk, the Munt, the Royal palace, the Oudekerk, the Westerkerk, the Jan Roodenpoortstoren and the Haringpakkerstoren. Signed in the middle plate below, 'H. Numan' [see also Rijksprentkabinet RP-P-OB-86.807 for a later edition of the same blocks]. Titled above: 'NIEUW JAARS COURANT / Opgedraagen aan alle HEEREN, KOOPLIEDEN, BURGERS en INWOONERS der Stad AMSTERDAM, / door hunnen bereidwilligen Dienaar, den Ombrenger der Couranten en Dominees-Briefjes. / Op den eersten dag van het Jaar onzes Heeren, Anno 1782....
