The first edition of this scarce work.A comprehensive history of the whole county of Lancashire, by Lieutenant-Colonel Henry Fishwick, a native of the area, who was twice Mayor of Rochdale. This history looks at Lancashire from its earliest traces throughout the centuries, up to the dawn of the nineteenth century.Two pages of adverts to the rear. Rebound in a modern cloth binding, with renewed endpapers. Externally, smart, with light marks and a little light rubbing to the cloth. Minor bumping to the extremities. Spine is faded. Spine label is rubbed. Hinges are a little strained but remains firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned and clean, with the occasional light handling marks.
