B. C. Boulter; A. G. Bradley
Round About Wiltshire
London, Methuen & Co. 1928. Cloth. A fourth edition copy of Bradley's illustrated guide to Wiltshire, rare to find in the early dust wrapper. The fourth edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the very scarce original unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with fourteen colour plates by T. C. Gotch, sixteen black and white reproductions of photographs, and B. C. Boulter's map of Wiltshire to the end papers. Collated, complete. Andrew Cecil Bradley (1851-1935), best remembered for his scholarly work on Shakespeare, wrote this historical, archaeological and topographical guide to the British county of Wiltshire. Early editions of this work are uncommon, and early dust wrappers are rare. 8 pages publisher's advertisements to the rear. In publisher's original cloth binding, with original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is bright and smart, with very minor shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, with some spotting to the fore edge and the odd spot throughout. Plates remain in excellent condition. A little chipping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the folds of the flaps, of the dust wrapper, which is otherwise very smart. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: T. C. Gotch.
