Imprisonment for debt considered. With respect to the bad policy, inhumanity, and evil tendency of that practice. Translated from the Italian.
London: printed for F. Newbery, at the Corner of St. Paul's Church-Yard, 1772. 0. Hardcover. Octavo. [xvi], 40pp. With the half-title, in excellent facsimile. Drab boards. Roscoe, A246; ESTC T37075. Ex-library copy; deaccessioned with all the appropriate marks. ESTC records three copies: one at the British Library, one at Queen's University at Belfast, and one at Yale. It is conceivable that this was originally written by Beccaria; but there is no evidence to support this assumption. Good.
