Withofii, with fine inscription on verso of front endpaper, dated 1723, and Bibliotheek van de Doopsgezinde Gemeente Amsterdam, with printed label on pastedown & stamp on title. - Gaius Sollius (Modestus) Apollinaris Sidonius or Saint Sidonius Apollinaris (Lyon, c. 431 - Clermont-Ferrand, 489) was a late Roman poet and politician. He was the son of Emperor Avitus. Around 470 he was bishop of Clermont-Ferrand in Roman Gaul.
