Richter, R. and F. Unger
Beitrag zur Paläontologie des Thüringer Waldes. Erster Theil, Zweiter Theil. Schiefer- und Sandsteinflora.
Wien, Kaiserliche Akademie der Wissenschaften, 1856. 4to (29.2 x 23.0 cm). 100 pp.; 16 lithographed plates (several partly coloured or tinted). Later half cloth over marbvled boards. Spine with gilt title. This work by Reinhard Richter (erster Theil, on the general geology and the fossil fauna), and Franz Unger (zweiter Theil, on the fossil flora) is more or less a continuation of the 1848 publication by Richter on the Grauwacke near Saalfeld. The present contribution was published in the academy's Denkschriften and contains many (often new) species of trilobites, echinoderms, molluscs, etc., figured on three plates. The plants, on 13 plates, are nearly all new. Some very light spotting but nearly completely clean. The binding is modern, in contemporary style. A very good copy. Rare. Nissen ZBI, 3392.
