A single issue of this general interest magazine, featuring an article on the Boers of South Africa by Stephen Crane, 'The Great Boer Trek.' Also present is a photo illustrated article on the circus and its performers, detailing life on the road for the performers, with photos of performers and their acts. Another article, 'The Modern Chariot' documents the history and rise of the automobile, charting French innovators and its growth in use in cities and elsewhere. With photos of automobiles, although all are highly decorated in floral arrangements, making the models and makes impossible to discern. GOOD condition. General browning and some fading. Minor soiling. Faint dampstaining along the spine. Extremities bumped and worn, with some chipping, minor loss, a few minor tears and creases. Interior solid, with a large faint dampstain intermittently affecting the pages throughout. Good .

No Place, Journal Newspaper Company, 1900. Wraps. Illustrated wraps. Black and white photos throughout. A small booklet containing various general interest pieces, as well as the first part of a story by Stephen Crane, 'The Reluctant Voyagers.' This story was written in 1893, although through a series of mishaps in publishing, etc. was not published until this appearance (Sorrentino, Stephen Crane, p. 121). With a photo collection of children in humorous or cute poses, an article on Haverhill, Massachusetts, Boston women of foreign rank, etc. GOOD condition. Staining and rusting along the extremities and staples, with general browning, minor to moderate foxing and minor soiling to the wrappers. Corners curled and a bit creased. Small spot of insect damage along the top left edge. Minor scattered staining/spotting in the interior. Small area staining along the top edge. Good .
