On requesting a transfer away from the boredom he was offered the choice of officer training or a special manoeuvre. Choosing the latter it turned out to be the raid on Dieppe where he was captured and spent three years in Stalag IXC, in the heart of Germany near Lepzig, where he kept a diary now expanded and illustrated from contemporary camp files, photographs, maps and other material looted after liberation, small crossed through ownership stamp on front pastedown, dustrapper: a little sunned at edges, very good plus in a very good plus dustwrapper,
