Later it would sell over one hundred and twenty thousand copies. In 1948, Greene extensively revised the novel for the third edition and his changes were incorporated in future printings. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally smart with only minor shelf wear and some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. The rear board is slightly rubbed, with a hint of fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. With a very minor, faint spotting to the first and last few leaves.
