Inner gilt dentilles. Aeg(faded in places) . Contemporary full calf with gilt decoration and gilt title: "Parish Church, "St. Johns" Weston-Super-Mare." All page edges gilt. Black calf with gilt title and 5 raised bands to spine. Edges rubbed and bumped. Boards bowed. Gilt binder's stamp to the verso of the front board: "A. R. Mowbray & Co. Ltd." . Marbled endpapers. Neat dedication to front free-endpaper: "Neil Maguire-Denlegh-Maxwell, Chaplain, Royal Navy, 1946-1958.1966-1974. QHC 1972. OBE 1973." Clean English text in red & black. ** Family history records show: Rev. Neil Maguire-Denlegh-Maxwell was born on 8 July 1919 in Stockport, Cheshire, his father, James, was 36 and his mother, Ms. Trow, was 39. He married Anna Camille Bertie-Roberts in December 1949 in Worcester, Worcestershire. He died on 23 June 1980 in Worcester, Worcestershire, at the age of 60.

A very good full leather binding. 8vo. 30.0cm x 23.5cm x 6.5cm . Red calf over thick boads. Gilt cross to both boards. Corners and hinges carefully strengthened. Smooth spine with gilt banding and gilt title: "Missale Romanum". Rubbed gilt page edges with 11 silk tabs firmly attached. Inner gilt dentelles. Coloured endpapers lightly foxed and soiled. Free-endpapers blank, but creased. Title-page and Dedicatory also creased. No date on the title-page , but Dedicatory dated 1921. Clear Latin text in red and black with some written notes, and numerous illustrations within text. Many pages strengthened along the edges due to wear. Pagination: pp.xlvi/[4pp.]/pp.262/pp.273-656/pp.200/pp2./pp.2/pp.4/pp.72/pp.89-96 + 11 blank leaves at the end.

Venetiis [ Venice ] : Apud Nicolaum Pezzana, M DCXCVIII. (1698 ) . 0. A very good original shark skin binding with two white metal clasps (in working order). 8vo. 15.6cm x 10.5cm x 3.0cm. pp.480. Black shark skin binding, over wooden boards. 5 raised bands to spine. 2 clasps and hasps to leading edge of both boards. All page edges gilt (dulled). Light staining to paste downs. Previous owner's signature to front endpaper: "Giulia Castellini". Title in red & black with printer's vignette. Full-page engraving opposite: "Dominica.." (page 5). Clean Latin text, large type (in both Roman and italics), red & black throughout. A well preserved copy. Niccolò Pezzana (XVII century – XVIII century) was an Italian publisher and printer active in Venice from the second half of the seventeenth century to the first half of the eighteenth. He published, among other things, in 1685 Giovanni Pietro Cattaneo's translation of El Criticón by Baltasar Gracián, in three volumes (1651-1657). " - See Wikipedia.

Fine watered silk endpapers, with a couple of silk lined pockets for personal prayers etc. Toned endpapers. Black and white frontis "Sacra Famiglia". Printed title in red & black with vignette and historated capital. On last page: "Mediolani, die 14 Martii 1912 Nihil obstat quominus imprimatur. P.ter Rodolphus Dossi, Censor eccl.
