Venetiis [ Venice ] : Apud Nicolaum Pezzana, M DCXCVIII. (1698 ) . 0. A very good original shark skin binding with two white metal clasps (in working order). 8vo. 15.6cm x 10.5cm x 3.0cm. pp.480. Black shark skin binding, over wooden boards. 5 raised bands to spine. 2 clasps and hasps to leading edge of both boards. All page edges gilt (dulled). Light staining to paste downs. Previous owner's signature to front endpaper: "Giulia Castellini". Title in red & black with printer's vignette. Full-page engraving opposite: "Dominica.." (page 5). Clean Latin text, large type (in both Roman and italics), red & black throughout. A well preserved copy. Niccolò Pezzana (XVII century – XVIII century) was an Italian publisher and printer active in Venice from the second half of the seventeenth century to the first half of the eighteenth. He published, among other things, in 1685 Giovanni Pietro Cattaneo's translation of El Criticón by Baltasar Gracián, in three volumes (1651-1657). " - See Wikipedia.
