Magnus, Albertus [et al] - De secretis mulierum. Item De virtutibus herbarum lapidum et animalium. Amsterdam, Jodocus Janssonius, 1643.

Fine copy in contemporary vellum, ink title on spine. 12°: A-P12 Q8, pag.: 366 [10]. With an engraved titlepage. With a contemporary ownershipmark on the titlepage: -Sum Philippi a Rade Hob. Rugio-pomerani Optim. art. stud. Flo 1647-. Very rare edition of this compilation of works ascribed to Albertus Magnus, but probably written by one of his pupils Henry of Saxony or Thomas de Cantimpré. ‘De secretis mulierum’ is a famous tract on the secrets of women, probably written in the 13th century. Except for the four works mentioned on the titlepage, the book also contains Albertus Magnus’ ‘De Horis Dierum’ and ‘De Mirabilis Mundi’, as well as ‘De Secretis Naturae’ by Michael Scotus. Brunet and Ferguson mention this edition of 1643, but Caillet only describes the 1655-edition. B0042.
