[lvi], 1109, [87=indices] pp. Vellum with turned edges (vellum used, slightly soiled & slightly damaged; pastedowns and flyleaves a bit damaged; lower half water stained throughout; bottom corner of one leaf mssing without loss; library stamps; a few more or less contemporary owner's marks (partially erased), dated 1644, 1650 and 1666/1668) ¶ Jacob Alvarez de Paz was a Spanish Jesuit and devotional writer, born at Toledo in 1560. He was sent to Peru, where he occupied successively the chairs of philosophy and divinity at Lima. He filled the office of provincial of Peru during six years and died in 1620. ¶ Sommervogel I/254: "Ce traité est ici plus complet que dans les éditions précédentes."
