 1561095447,
Louis Marie de la Haye, Vicomte de Cormenin (Paris 1788-1868) was a French jurist and political pamphleteer. Steel engraving on chine-collé, sheet size 266 x 168 mm., chine size 191 x 141 mm. Engraved by Philippe Joseph Augustin Vallot after David d'Angers and published in: Cormenin, Louis-Marie de Lahaye. Livre des orateurs. Parijs: L.A. Pagnerre, 1842. Philippe Joseph Augustin Vallot (1796-1870) was a French engraver and printmaker. Pierre-Jean David (1788-1856) was a French sculptor, medalist and freemason. He adopted the name David d'Angers following his entry into the studio of the painter Jacques-Louis David in 1809, as a way of both expressing his patrimony and distinguishing himself from the master painter. In good condition, a few pencil marks in the edges of the image area (not affecting the image itself).
