Etching/engraving on laid paper, by Claude-Augustin Duflos after Jean Baptiste Bénard, published ca. 1750 by Jean-Baptiste Crépy, with an eight-line caption in French by Meslé, sheet size 375 x 270 mm., cropped within platemark, a sharp crease in the caption below the image (from previous framing?), a small tear in the caption, some faint stains in the margins, the top half of the sheet faintly moldy. The man, a hunter or poacher as indicated by the gun and game on the floor, embraces the woman who holds a spindle and distaff. A boy with a small dog and a girl with a toy windmill are also present.
